June 10, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The Lighter Side of History: A Rambling Romp through Santa Barbara’s Yesteryears
by Hattie Beresford

Pour yourself a cocktail and join us for this online talk in your living room.  Historian Hattie Beresford will take a humorous look back at the strange, bizarre, fun, and fascinating events in Santa Barbara’s past.

Awesome autos and awful roads made for interesting times in the early 1900s. These were the days when corsets defined even the new woman and bobbing your hair could get you fired!  Never mind the midnight pranks of mama’s barefoot boys and the day it rained worms…

About the Speaker:
Hattie Beresford writes a local history column for the Montecito Journal and is author of The Way It Was ~ Santa Barbara Comes of Age, as well as Celebrating CAMA’s Centennial, the 100-year history of the Community Arts Music Association.

She has authored several issues of Noticas and co-edited My Santa Barbara Scrapbook: Elizabeth Eaton Burton.
